FBI whistleblower Bassem Youssef, right, addresses the American Library Association meeting in Philadelphia on Saturday Jan. 12, 2008, with his attorney Stephen Kohn by his side.
Youssef, a decorated FBI supervisor who was born in Egypt and speaks fluent Arabic, said that jealousy, discrimination and flawed directives hinder the agency's attempts to fight terrorism.
ed: I remember a time, after 9/11, that the news media was trying to stifle the story that the "US Intelligence Apparatus" could have had hundreds of willing, arabic speaking Sephardic Jews in New York help them in understanding the "chatter" that was going on, and in a move not to disturb the country's muslims, the Jews were turned down. I wonder if Youssef mentioned this in his expose.
